Boston: Q is for Quincy Market

Welcome to my third year participating in the A-Z Blogging Challenge. This year’s theme is BOSTON.

Today’s letter is Q which will showcase Quincy Market.

While I enjoyed visiting this bustling area, I must confess… I still think of Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market as one and the same. The buildings are distinctly different, but together they represent a vibrant harbor area filled with shopping boutiques that cater to any and every tourist’s need.

Faneuil Hall
Market Place and Meeting Hall since 1743.
While definitely a prime tourist attraction, I also noticed
several local office workers enjoying a lunch break
outside at the many park benches available in front of the building

Quincy Market
Built in the 1820s and located behind Faneuil Hall
The Market not only includes the building, but also the streets to the left
(North Canopy) and right (South Canopy). Both streets are lined
with shops, restaurants, and pushcarts.

The first floor of Quincy Market offers a wide selection
of local culinary treats. The second floor offers plenty
of seating with lots of natural light streaming through the
large arched windows.
